From my sketchbook to your sleeve:
Saturday mornings in my family began before sunrise, in that quiet blue hour where dough rises like a held breath. My Nonna made bread the way some people pray – slowly, rhythmically, with more history in her hands than in her stories. By noon the house smelled of yeast and company; by one, neighbours and cousins drifted in as if guided by instinct alone.
Bread was her language. Her ledger. Her way of turning old wounds into something warm enough to share. This doodle is for her, and for anyone who knows that food is rarely just food – it is inheritance, forgiveness, and the small, holy work of keeping a family stitched together.
