James Street North on a good day: heritage storefronts in warm brick and painted trim, a leafy tree, the old-fashioned lamppost with its street banner, and a planter spilling over with flowers, printed on a natural cotton tote.

The black linework is loose and looping, with soft colour behind it in marigold, blush, sky blue and leaf green. This is no flimsy freebie tote. It's made from extra-thick, heavyweight cotton, with reinforced stitching on the long handles, so it's built for real errands: the Hamilton Farmers' Market, Art Crawl, a September weekend at Supercrawl. It also makes a sweet gift for a proud Hamiltonian, or for someone who's moved away and misses it.

Perfectly imperfect, entirely hand-drawn. Original illustration by Daniella Girgenti. Drawn in Hamilton, of course.
